Photo Shoot and Beach Day

Ok, so I know this is the third post today, but we are catching up for the last month. Kara took AJ to Presidio Park by our house and started shooting, and couldn't really stop. Then, this Saturday we went to Del Mar and took AJ to the beach. Afterwards when we were walking to our car some friends were having a Luau at her mom's house, so we stopped and AJ got to hang out with Merridy for a few minutes.
I recognize this is a little overkill, but the way we look at it, this is the best shot AJ has at a photo album when she gets older, so we better make it count!

Around the house

AJ learns new tricks every day. She rolls both ways now with ease and gets up on her hands and knees and tries very hard to scoot forward. Tomorrow she'll probably be crawling...that means mommy really won't be able to sit down all day. Its all good though...keeps me active. Seriously though, Annika only stops moving to sleep. People always tell me how amazing it is that she still has all those rolls with all the jumping she does!

The hat AJ has on is from my Aunt Gloria and uncle Brian. It came with a very cute little dress. AJ wears this a lot when we go for walks. She is starting to realize when she has something on her head though, so I think the days of fun bows and hats may be numbered. I tried to train her!

You should have seen me try to get those little skinny jeans on AJ...poor thing was a good sport and we were able to get at least one wear out of them. It reminded me of my own days of tight non-stretch denim Guess jeans (you know the ones we would "peg.") Why did we ever feel we needed to wear those? I remember my mom having to pull them off of my ankles in the dressing room and me still thinking it was a good idea to buy them...

Its been very warm down here the past few weeks, so AJ spends most of the day sporting only her diaper. What a life!

This little piggy is aj's favorite thing to sleep with. She cuddles with it and falls right to sleep. If I remember right it is from her great aunt Gail. Thanks Gail! We are usually greeted with a huge grin when we go into aj's room after her naps...she is such a happy girl!

Well, I said I would absolutely not give Annika sugar until she knew what it was or at least until her 1st birthday, but as you can see above she is fully enjoying a bit of her mama's ice cream. Kids just know when you're eating something yummy, don't they? We try to keep our house free of those treats most of the time because how can you deny this little face of a little icecream?!

Here's our "big girl" sitting up in her chair. This gives me some hands free time to get the kitchen cleaned and dinner made. She loves to "help me" in the kitchen.
Aj and Harper...so cute!

The grass is always greener...
AJ and daddy playing. Annika gives daddy more laughs and smiles than anyone else!

AJ fell asleep on our run one day, so I left her on our porch for a while...she always wakes up immediately upon entering the apartment. She is dreaming about something funny here.

We've spent a few days our at the Tank's pool this summer. Here are Luke Lane and AJ with auntie Tatum. It is so fun to see all of their little personalities developing. They are precious!

Williamson's 4th of July Trip

It is becoming tradition for Heather and David to come to SD for the week of the 4th. This year added a whole new dynamic with AJ. While we didn't get to watch the fireworks together (AJ did not think it was such a hot idea to be up til 9:30) and we didn't want to get stuck on Coronado for an hour afterwards like last year (check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEsMfEQy7bY) but we still had a great week together.

We went to lunch at C-Level on the bay which was worth the wait.

Annika loves her auntie and cousin......and her uncle David is so mean!

Heather had bought matching shoes for the girls on their last trip out for AJ's Baby Dedication, well they fit now and Maddie and Bella happen to bring their shoes out (coincidence, I think not). Annika likes to stand on her toes so it is a little hard to see, but they were pretty cute together.

Heather came back to town for the next weekend for a retirement celebration from the Navy, she also babysat for us one night so Kara and I could have a night out... and it was her Birthday weekend. Thanks Heather!

Trip, Toddlers, and Tatas!

Trip.

Father's Day was spent this year at Kara's parent's. AJ and I are watching the US Open, a good Father's Day tradition. And yes, it does make me proud that AJ can't take her eyes off of golf long enough for a picture. We are raising her well!

Kara was in Rhiannon's wedding (childhood friend) on Friday prior to Father's Day. The weekend surrounding the wedding was a lot of fun. Kara had the girls over to her parent's house for a pool party and Ben (the groom) allowed me to join the guys for a round of golf (thanks Ben!). Both of the ladies looked amazing, and AJ sat with me in the back and was a gem. It was also nice having AJ as we were able to get some of the only shaded seats which was an added bonus.

I got Kara a Flip camera for mother's day, we finally uploaded the videos from it to the computer, so you will start to see more of these. This one is after a run in Ripon, we were cooling off by the pool and I started to play peek-a-boo with AJ. It was the first time she really started to have a belly laugh.

Toddlers

Cousin Mo LOVES AJ, sometimes she can't contain it! She loves to kiss her and hug her and squeeze her, and AJ usually likes it.

We spent an evening at Jeff and Heather Miller's for dinner. Jeff was my high school youth pastor and Heather has been a family friend since childhood. They have three beautiful daughters and it was great to be able to hang out with them for the evening.

As you can see, the girls all liked being together.

Sweet smiles!

And Tatas!

So Kara bought this shirt prior to AJ's birth, it is to fight breast cancer. If you can't read it, it says, "Gimme your ta-tas and no one gets hurt." Well, AJ saw the camera and started posing, so we couldn't really help ourselves.

"Let's roll, Mom!"
